The Morganfield Police Department serves the City of Morganfield Kentucky nestled in the Ohio River valley 11 miles from the Illinois border. Our Community is rich in Farming and Agricultural History and located on our borders is Camp Breckenridge a Former Military post, which trained thousands of World War Two Troops. Some German P.O.W.’s were housed here during the war. The City of Morganfield first established its Police Department by establishing the office of Town Marshal on July 6^th 1894. That’s 111 Years of Contiguous Law Enforcement Service.

Our Department prides itself on being on the cutting edge of our trade. We were one of the first agencies to adopt Semi Auto Handguns as our primary weapon; we issue off duty as well as duty weapons. We hold a LINK/NCIC terminal and have for years. We were one of the first Agencies to adopt a Pro Arrest Domestic Violence policy, and as a result of the research by one of our officers, changes in the Commonwealth Domestic Violence laws have made it easier for Law Enforcement officers across the Commonwealth.
